The 10-day capacity building training programme, sponsored by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), concluded at College of Agriculture of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) on Wednesday.

Rajendranagar: The 10-day capacity building training programme, sponsored by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), concluded at College of Agriculture of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) on Wednesday.

The topics covered during the programme included: Digital Interventions and Mobile Apps for Next Generation Agriculture, Vertical Gardening, Hydroponics, Applications of drones in Agriculture and Ornamental fish production and management.

Eminent speakers from the industry, academia and consultancy firms delivered lectures. Three field visits were also arranged during the period, where students were exposed to vertical gardens, hydroponics fields. Students were also made into groups and asked to give presentations on different topics. Further, students also tried their hands in preparation of apps at the end of the training sessions.

Dr J Satyanarayana, Dean of Agriculture, PJTSAU, appreciated the student participants and advised them to use skills acquired in the programme for their research purposes. Dr A Manohoar Rao, Member, Board of Management, PJTSAU appreciated the coordinators and urged the students to take up entrepreneurship in agriculture as their choice.

Dr K V S Meena Kumari, Dean, PG Studies, advised the PG and the PhD students to take up more such programmes which could help in honing technical and practical skills. As many as 55 SC students of PG and Ph D took part in the training programme.
