Hyderabad: Karimnagar MP and Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar demanded filing of a criminal case against the TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao for releasing a forged letter to media, based on which the TRS chief alleged that he had written to the State Election Commission (SEC) against disbursal of financial assistance to the flood victims.

Addressing the media here on Wednesday, the State BJP chief denying writing any letter to SEC regarding the flood assistance, said that whoever have stopped disbursal of financial assistance to the flood-affected people was a fool (Murkhudu).

He said that the TRS which has gained unparallel expertise in speaking and propagating lies has further stooped to a level of resorting to forging the TRS chief signature to tar the growing popularity of BJP among people.

He challenged the TRS chief to decide date and time, on which, he could take an oath before the presiding deity of Bhagya Lakshmi temple, located near Charminar. He also dared the TRS supremo to prove that the signature on the letter that he had released to the media belongs to him.

The Karimnagar MP said the party had earlier asked to use the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode to disburse the financial assistance directly into the accounts of the flood-affected people. However, the TRS leaders and cadre had pocketed the financial assistance. "Earlier, the SEC had not objected to the disbursal of the financial assistance to the flood victims. If the BJP had objected, then, why have they stopped it now?" he questioned.

He reasoned that Chief Minister and his government has developed cold feet after seeing the people standing in serpentine lines to apply for the assistance, in which, one person had reportedly lost life. "There is no money with the government. This has forced the government to drag the name of BJP to suspend the disbursal of financial assistance to the flood victims," he added.

Lashing out at the SEC, he said, "It is for the first time that the election commission did not resolve the objections raised and going to conduct elections without voters' lists." He cautioned that "it is a misnomer to think and to get away with doles from the ruling party.

Even if an official is retired there will be an inquiry into their conduct. Don't invite such a situation for yourself," he said.
