Hyderabad: Congress MP from Bhongir Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday submitted a representation to the Union Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change and urged him to rescind all permissions given by the ministry for establishment of Pharma City in Hyderabad as many irregularities took place in the acquisition of land for it.

He also called on Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in the national capital and thanked him for sanctioning Rs 200 crore for road works on the national highway 565 connecting Nagarjuna Sagar with Nakrekal. He urged the Union Minister to complete the works at the earliest.

Venkat Reddy said he had also thanked the Union Minister and garlanded him for sanctioning another Rs 375 crore for expansion of the NH 65. He said as the DPR of the project was not yet ready, he urged Gadkari to issue orders for preparation of the DPR at the earliest.

He also said although the highway between Kothagudem and Hyderabad has been recognised as a national highway by covering areas like Valigonda, Torrur, Nellikuduru, Mahabubabad and Yellandu, the maintenance of the road was not good due to negligence of the officials concerned.
