Leopard has been spotted near Himayat Sagar by a few persons on Saturday, said, forest officials. The big cat remained out of sight for at least 48 hours after it was last seen on Katedan underbridge.

According to the reports, a few truck drivers spotted the leopard drinking water at the lake in the morning and alerted the locals and then the forest officials. The forest officials and the police started patrolling in the forest area around the Outer Ring Road (ORR) between the Himayat Sagar and Shamshabad.

On Friday, the forest officials claimed that the leopard has fled into the agricultural university and then to the chilkur forest area from the farmhouse at Katedan where it was last spotted. The officials have been searching for the animal since Thursday.

Surveillance cameras, drones, baits have been arranged to catch the animal but in vain. However, a tracker dog of Cyberabad police took the officials to the Rajendranagar agricultural university and towards Himayat Sagar.
