Hyderabad Metro Train sets new record by travelling more than 4 lakh passengers on Monday. Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy said this is the highest ever since the Metro opened. Traffic on Metro trains has increased exponentially in the wake of the RTC strike.

Additional services are running in the wake of the RTC strike. Metro Rail ran trains 830 trips on Monday. In addition to the trains, additional 4 trains drived 120 trips. In the wake of the RTC strike, people of Hyderabad are opting Metro Rail as the right alternative.

Telangana Congress on Monday launched a Pragati Bhawan siege program in solidarity with RTC workers. This resulted in heavy traffic on the Secunderabad-Begumpet route. In the wake of this, commuters have to resort to metro trains to reach their destinations. Due to the lack of buses and traffic problems, the passengers are opting metro trains.
