Medchal: An Airforce Weather Management Committee meeting was held at Medchal collectorate here on Wednesday. The meeting attended by district officials and Airforce officials was presided over by District Collector Vasam Venkateshwarulu.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector instructed Municipal Commissioners to conduct special drives for shifting of dumping yards and garbage from Srirangavaram, Dundigal and Nagaluru villages as the dump yards in these villages were attracting birds, which pose threat of collision to airplanes in the area. He said that dumping yards were established at every village and urban localities as part of 'Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi' programmes held recently. The dumping yard at Dundigal was being shifted to Bowrampet. The Collector also instructed officials to address monkey and dog menace in the area. He suggested that the officials place signboards, appealing to the public not to feed monkeys in the area. Similarly, he ordered forest officials to address wild boar problem in villages. He said that necessary measures would be taken to different issues after field inspection.

Among those who participated the meeting were Additional Collectors Vidyasagar and John Samson, Airforce Wing Commander Rajesh, Commander Srinivas Rao, Medchal Municipal Commissioner Satyanarayana Reddy, Dundigal Commissioner Suresh, Dundigal Municipal Chairperson S Krishnaveni Krishna, ZPTC Daivasahayam, DFO Sudhakar, tahasildar Surender, ACP Narsinga Rao and others.
