Hyderabad: TSRTC Managing Director Sunil Sharma on Saturday said that the occupancy ratio and also revenue of the corporation have increased during the last few months and if the trend continues the RTC employees can get bonus during the month of December.

The RTC MD was speaking at the fuel efficiency awards function of the corporation where several drivers were rewarded for providing best services and also saving diesel.

The MD said that the occupancy ratio has increased to 77 per cent during the last two-three months, which is not easy. The corporation is getting good revenue and if the trend continues, the employees can get bonus during December month, said the RTC MD.

Sunil Sharma said that the government was taking several initiatives for the welfare of the employees. He said that the retirement age of the employees was increased to 60 years.

The MD said that he could not concentrate on the RTC issues as he was busy with Medaram jatara and added that now he would focus on the Welfare Council and would try to resolve the issues of the workers. He assured the workers that they would not be harassed and directed the officials not to create fear among the employees.

"If the employees do not fear and stay focus on the work they would be happy and corporation will also develop," said Sunil Sharma.

The MD awarded G Narsaiah of Nizamabad-2 depot, who has saved 2,890 litres of diesel during 2018-19.

Apart from this, the second best driver K Habibuddin, who saved 2,624 litres of diesel, the third best driver S Saidulu of Khammam depot, who saved 2,307 litres of diesel. Apart from these the other drivers who were awarded include G Anjaneyulu (Hyderabad-3 depot), T Babaiah (Nagarkurnool), V R Reddy (Miyapur-2), B Sanjeeva (Uppal), MD Yakub (Narsaropet), VB Pathi (Medak), G Satish (Mulugu) and Sheik Ashraf (Asifabad). The senior officials of the corporation were also present.
