Tandur: The town wing of Indian Medical Association condemned the attack on a private hospital here on Monday. Recently, a patient died at Sri Balaji Nursing Home in the town. Relatives of the victim went rampage criticising the doctor for negligence and alleged as the cause of the death.

They attacked the doctor who attended the patient and also destroyed furniture of the hospital. Condemning the incident, the IMA President Dr Shivamohan Reddy, Secretary Dr Jayprasad, along with Dr Jagadeshwar Reddy, Dr Bhaskar, Dr Ravishankar, Dr Samiulla, said doctors always try to save patients, but never kill them.

"The victim was brought dead. After inspecting the patient, the duty doctor told his kin about it. But, the angered relatives attacked the doctor and destroyed furniture," they said.

The doctors said that the lack of awareness on law is the cause for such incidents. They also said that emergency services are mainly provided at private hospitals. If such incidents take place, it is very difficult to extend medical services, they said.
