Eight people were arrested on Friday for allegedly running online cricket betting racket on Indian Premier league matches here at Mahabubabad. Around Rs 2,09,000 cash and eight mobile phones were seized from them by the district SP Nandyala Koti Reddy.
According to the reports, the police after receiving information regarding cricket betting raised the place and arrested them.
On April 19, the South Zone Task Force police busted a cricket betting racket and arrested two for organising betting on Indian Premier league (IPL) matches. The police seized Rs 1 lakh cash, mobile phones from them.
