Around 30 people sustained serious injuries when an MMTS train rammed into the Kongu express waiting at the platform. The train services were also disrupted on the line after the mishap and some trains are being re-scheduled.

Meanwhile, the condition of the injured is said to be stable except one identified as Sekhar (35) who suffered a cut in the neck area. Dr. Mohammed Rafi, RMO Osmania Hospital said that full attention is being given to the injured and orthopaedic, neuro and general surgeons, as well as cardiologists from all the reputed hospitals in the city, are attending the injured.

Two of the injured have been discharged from the hospital, Rafi added.
