Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has instructed authorities to expedite Kaleshwaram project works so as to conduct the trial run by the end of June.

KCR wanted the completion of power supply works, fitting of motors and other checklist processes by this time.

While stating that he would come for the inauguration of the project trial run along with Chief Secretary S K Joshi, he expressed his satisfaction over the the project works.

Unfazed by scorching summer heat on Sunday, the Chief Minister, accompanied by ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Koppula Eshwar, Chief Secretary S K Joshi, CMO and engineering officials and Collectors inspected the project works at various places.

KCR started off by inspecting the progress of construction works at Kannepally Pump House. Through the lift, the CM went into the pump house and inspected the motor pumping process.

Engineers and contract agency representatives explained to the CM about the process of the pump house.

On par with the completion of the Kaleshwaram Project, its operation and maintenance too are equally vital, the CM stressed. Prior to July, moving of two TMCs water for irrigation is a welcome step, he said.

Speaking to officials and working agencies, KCR said since it is a major project some small technical snags are inevitable and they should be meticulously dealt with and prevent recurrence of the same in future.

Further, the CM said that in the process of speeding up of works one should not compromise on project quality. All precautions are to be ensured even if it takes its own pace of time.

Moving three TMCs of water every day from Godavari to Telangana areas is like moving one a river, he felt.

From Kaleshwaram to Mid Manair, it has to be considered as Phase I, from Mid Manair it has to be considered as phase II and accordingly works need to be completed in a smooth manner, KCR said.

With regard to the operation of the pump house and other projects, an independent wireless system has to be developed, he felt.

KCR suggested the establishment of a trash track system in advance to prevent unwanted waste material entering into the pump house motors.

In the process of lifting 2 TMCs of water as part of the project priority, subsequent efforts are to be on for the due plans to lift the third TMC of water.

He appreciated the work of engineering officials, working agencies and every worker for the pace at which the project works are being taken up.

MPs, including Santosh Kumar, MLAs, Engineer-in-Chief Muralidhar Rao, Megha engineering company directors Krishna Reddy and Srinivas Reddy were present.
