Khammam District Health Dept hold rally on AIDS
The District Health Department as part of International AIDS Day conducted a rally in Khammam on Sunday.
Khammam: The District Health Department as part of International AIDS Day conducted a rally in Khammam on Sunday. District Judge Vinodh Kumar flagged off the rally. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government was conducting many awareness programmes in all the villages on AIDS.
District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kalavathi Bai, while speaking on the occasion said the youth plays a key role on spreading and creating awareness on AIDS. She said as part of the creating awareness on AIDS many programmes have been organised by the government in and around the district.
The government was also giving more funds for the programme. She also informed that nearly 50 cases were recorded every month in the district. Programme officer Dr L Praveena explained the services of the HIV patients in the district. IMA President B Srinivas Rao, C Murugan NCC AO 11 batalian C Murgan, various organisation representatives Shanker, Anita, Rajasekhar, and various college students participated in the rally.
Meanwhile, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Officer V P Goutham inaugurated the rally in temple town Bhadrachalam also. In Kothagudem District Medical and Health Officer L Bhasker and Programme officer Dr Sireesha conducted a rally.
