Khammam: After the death of woman conductor B Neeraja, her family members and JAC leaders staged a protest before the Collectorate with her dead body on Monday.

The protestors and family members raised slogans against the government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The protest was held for nearly four hours with the dead body of Neerja.

The protest stopped after Special Deputy Collector R Dasaradh assured the family members on behalf of the government. The Special Deputy Collector said the government would provide Rs 7 lakh compensation, one double bedroom house and one government job to her husband.

After getting the assurance, the family members agreed for post-mortem of the dead body at Khammam. Speaking to media, Neeraja's husband B Raj Sekhar said the government is taking responsibility of his wife's death. He said due to stress of the ongoing strike his wife committed suicide.
