Karimnagar: Joint Collector GV Shyam Prasad Lal said the liquor tender process through lucky draw system was concluded on a smooth note without any untoward incidents.

He conducted the lucky draw in front of the applicants for about 84 liquor shops spread across Karimnagar district, under tight police security at the Collectorate auditorium here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, JC Shyam Prasad Lal said applications were invited for about 87 liquor shops in the district and as per the orders issued by the government, the draw was kept in pending for three shops, which will be held after the government issues orders.

The applicants are selected through lucky draw for the remaining 84 liquor shops transparently without giving any scope for untoward incidents, he informed. The government has generated about Rs 12 crores of revenue in allotting 84 liquor shops and added about one fourth amount of the license fees is credited in the banks.

Excise department superintendent Chandrashekar, Urban CI Tataji, Task Force CI Chandra Mohan, CIs Indra Prasad, Durga Bhavani, Thiurmala and Vijaya Kumar were present along with others.
