Wanaparthy: The devotees covered the idol of Shiridi Sai Baba with the national flag and celebrated Independence Day at the Shiridi Sai Temple in Pebbair mandal on Thursday.

The devotees along with some of the members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad and other students' organisations celebrated the 73rd Independence Day in a unique way. They decorated the temple with national flags and offered prayers to the deity and sought peace and prosperity for the people in the country.

"We feel that without the blessings of God, it is not that easy to achieve great heights. The country had faced many ups and downs in the last 73 years of independence and today we have emerged as the third fastest growing economies in the world. Just imagine 73 years ago, we didn't even have proper food, clothes, education and heath for our people. But today, we have emerged leaders in all these sectors and reaching moon and Mars and all this is impossible to achieve in such a short span. It was possible through blessings of the God and our efforts. And that is why, we thought even God must be feeling great and celebrating this Independence Day," said a member of the students organisation.
