Warangal: Things started to fall into place with the Urban District Collector, Prashanth Jeevan Patil, cracking whip on officials concerned, who are lagging in clearing pending issues related to land record upgradation and purification (LRUP).
It may be recalled here that the Collector, who reviewed the status of LRUP last week, directed the revenue officials to stay focused on disposing them with utmost care. The Collector then made it clear that he would review the LRUP every Saturday.
"In last one week, the administration has issued 1,503 pattadar passbooks," Patil said, conducting a review meeting with the officials hereon on Saturday.
He told the tahsildars to countercheck whether the transactions were carried legally or not. He told them to book cases against those, who submits fake pattadar passbooks.
Memos will be issued to those officials, who perform their duties negligently, he said, expressing dissatisfaction over some village revenue officers (VROs) for lack of knowledge on the subject.
Referring to the pendency of files for months together, the Collector warned Bheemadevarapally tahsildar and Manikyapur VRO of initiating departmental action if they fail to improve their track record.
The Collector commended Kamalapur tahsildar Raghavender Rao for his workmanship.
Pattadar passbooks will be issued only to those, who have registration papers, Collector Patil said, directing the officials to explain about it to farmers.
He told the officials speak to those pattadars, who are abroad and gather their Aadhar numbers in regard with the pending files.
Poll staff through randomisation process: In another development, both Warangal Urban and Rural district administrations drafted polling personnel through randomisation process for the upcoming first phase of Parishad elections under the supervision of general observer B Srinivas, Urban Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil and Rural Collector M Haritha.
The entire process was videographed. The number of polling officials (district-wise): Warangal Urban (four mandals) 1,927; Warangal Rural (five mandals) 1,601; Mahabubabad (seven mandals) 2,291. The first phase of polling will take place on May 6.
