Kushaiguda Police on Friday have registered a case against a man for giving triple talaq to his wife because of her misaligned teeth.
Hyderabad: Kushaiguda Police on Friday have registered a case against a man for giving triple talaq to his wife because of her misaligned teeth.
According to police, on Wednesday a complaint was registered by Rukhsana Begum (25) in which she stated that she married Mohammed Mustafa (36) in June 2019.
At the time of marriage as per demand, complainant's family gave Rs 5 lakh net cash, five tolas gold and other household articles as dowry. Before marriage, Mustafa's father told complainant's family that his son runs a clothes business and was well-settled.
After marriage Rukhsana came to know that her husband is an auto driver and the house was also not owned by them.
"My husband also took my brother's bike and did not return so far," Rukhsana begum said. In her complaint she said that, "due to unbearable physical and mental harassment by my husband and in-laws, I went to my parent's home in October-2019, later, Mustafa came to my parent's house and abused me using filthy language and pronounced triple talaq."
She said that he told her that he did not like me anymore because of my crooked teeth. On receipt of the complaint police registered a case under sections 498(A) IPC and Sec 3, 4 of Muslim Woman (Protection of Rights on Marriage ) Act, 2019 and took up investigation.
