'Multinational companies hit local employment'
Unemployment is on the rise due to multinational companies, Warangal West trade unions joint action committee convener Pulla Srinivas said.
Hanamkonda: Unemployment is on the rise due to multinational companies, Warangal West trade unions joint action committee convener Pulla Srinivas said.
Speaking at a meeting here on Thursday, he said that spread of multinational companies such as Walmart in the country have adverse effect on employment opportunities.
"Small scale industry entrepreneurs and small-time traders are the worst affected," he said, referring to the multinational companies' sway over the market.
Stating that local youth are a neglected lot, he found fault with the multinational companies for providing employment opportunities to non-locals. "The unemployment leads youth to resort to anti-social activities," Srinivas said.
He along with other leaders submitted a memorandum to Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar urging him to oppose the entry of Walmart in to Warangal. Puli Rajanikanth, Sangala Ephraim Raj, Ravinder Reddy and Shivshankar were among others present.
