A newly-wed couple attempted suicide after harassment from the woman's mother.
A newly-wed couple attempted suicide after harassment from the woman's mother. The incident took place at Kotagiri Mandal of Nizamabad district on Thursday. While the man died, his wife is in critical condition.
Getting into details, Pranith and Vijaya were in a relationship for some time and sought their parents' permission for the marriage. When Pranith's parents opposed their marriage, the duo went to the temple and got married with the consent of woman's mother Savitri. The couple stayed at the house of the woman's mother and not long ago, Savitri began harassing them.
Later, they both moved to Pranith's home. However, Vijaya visited their home every day and quarrelled with them. Depressed over Savitri's behaviour, the couple consumed poison to commit suicide and left a note accusing Savitri of their extreme step.
The man's parents who learned about the incident shifted them to hospital. While Pranith died while undergoing treatment, the condition of Vijaya is critical. SI Machendar Reddy registered a case.
