The Jogulamba Gadwal district police have arrested as many as nine persons on Friday.

Gadwal: The Jogulamba Gadwal district police have arrested as many as nine persons on Friday. According to reports seven of the arrested persons were sympathisers of Naxalites and have been involved in various cases.

The police after received a tip off laid a trap and arrested student leader Naganna resident of Yelukuru village of Maldakal mandal in Gadwal district.

Similarly, the police have also taken into custody Jagan, editor of Student March publication. Apart from these two prominent Naxalite sympathisers, the police have also arrested seven others and produced them before the court.

The special judge of the court has directed the police to send them to judicial remand. With this the police have shifted all the arrested persons to Mahbubnagar police station.

"We have prepared the first information reports (FIR) of all the nine persons and shifted them to Mahbubnagar prison on remand," an officer said.
