The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) on Sunday said that there were no errors in the marks of the 22 students who committed suicide. Further, it went on to say that the reason for their suicide was due to depression over their poor academic performance and fear of failure.

The answer sheets of the students who killed self were reverified by the subject experts and learned that there is no change in the marks even after the re-verification, the board said. After the suicides of the students were attributed to the technical errors in the announcement of results, the board reverified the answer sheets of 22 students who committed suicide and three students who attempted to kill self.

Of the total 25, 10 failed in one subject, 12 failed in more than one subject and the remaining three committed suicide despite passing the exam.

Data Tech Method Ex Pvt Ltd has been selected for the re-verification/recounting of the results by the Telangana State Technology Services (TSTS). Data Tech and Globarena, both will process the results and will declare it by May 10 only if the results of both the companies match.
