Urban District Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil on Wednesday instructed all mandal-level officials to prepare a ‘Green Plan’ for every village ensuring the State government’s objective to achieve ‘Green Telangana’ through Haritha Haram programme.

Warangal: Urban District Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil on Wednesday instructed all mandal-level officials to prepare a 'Green Plan' for every village ensuring the State government's objective to achieve 'Green Telangana' through Haritha Haram programme. He asked the officials to submit a comprehensive report on the plantation programme in all gram panchayats in 2020. He asked the officials to visit every house and identify the demand of plants.

The officials were told to submit nursery-wise reports on the number of plants available including all categories, plants that were distributed, remaining plants etc in 2019. He asked them to identify the number of plants needed to be grown to fulfil the demand in 2020. Every gram panchayat should have the details of each and every plant being grown in nursery. The officials were told to ensure all plants planted in village panchayat limits, avenue plantation, black plantation and Haritha Vanam will survive. The establishment of nurseries should also be included in the green plan, he said.

The Collector said that annual plans of 130 gram panchayats of the district have been prepared and mandal officials should keep the copies of these plans, accepted during gram sabhas. He directed the officials to repair electrictal related problems, which have been identified during 30-day action plan. They were ordered to replace bent electric poles, repair lines, arrange third wire for streetlights, fixing of special meter to streetlights etc within one week. They were also told to change electric lines that pass above schools and hostels.

The officials also reviewed progress of the 30-day action plan launched in panchayats to make them clean and green. Repairs of streetlights, recruitment of linemen in local bodies to maintain electricity lines and payment of power bills by local bodies from October onwards was also discussed in the meeting. Patil also told the officials to take necessary steps for the maintenance of cleanliness in all Rythu bazaars and busy centres in the panchayats. Zilla Parishad CEO Prasuna Rani and others were present at the meeting.
