Hyderabad: The four-member Technical Committee constituted to study and analyse the status of all buildings in the Secretariat is likely to submit its report to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in 10 days or 2 weeks.

The committee headed by State Engineer-in-Chief (Roads and Buildings department) Ganapathi Reddy visited all the 10 buildings in the secretariat premises to ascertain various aspects mainly the fitness of the structures, fire safety and the existing ambience for stress free work by the employees in all blocks.

The committee already prepared a preliminary report and the details of the visit and the officials observations will be incorporated in the updated report. The State government has decided to demolish all the structures and construct a new State of the art Secretariat for which K Chandrashekar Rao already performed ground-breaking ceremony recently.

Officials said the design of the new secretariat will be finalised based on the report prepared by the committee. Acquirement of additional land, if required, for new secretariat complex is also under consideration. If necessitated, land given to the State Energy department will be taken back for the purpose.
