Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Thursday said that the focus of the Pattana Pragathi would be on sanitation, Haritha Haram, plan for community toilets, crematoriums, nurseries, integrated veg and non-veg markets, playgrounds and parks.

The Chief Secretary held a review meeting with officials and took stock of the arrangements made for the roll out of the programme. Pattana Pragathi will be launched on the February 24.

The officials informed that the Municipal Administration department has developed a software for entry of details regarding the Pattana Pragathi. The Chief Secretary examined the software and suggested the officials to further simplify it.

The Chief Secretary said that details regarding each ward, municipality, officials etc should be collected immediately. For each ward a nodal officer is to be appointed. A team of officials should also be formed to participate in Pattana Pragathi programme.

The four committees with 15 members each ward should be constituted. As some districts are lagging, they are directed to ensure 100 per cent formation of committees and uploading their data.

A special survey to identify illiterates has to be conducted. A form online with Palle Pragathi has been circulated. This survey will also be conducted in GHMC and Cantonment areas.

The Finance department has released Rs 156 crore to GHMC and Rs 140 crore to municipalities under the 14th Finance Commission grants for the months of February and March. The Municipalities and Corporations are fully geared to take up the Pattana Pragathi programme.
