The Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahendar Reddy on Monday requested all the people and stockholders, who are having stocks of e-cigarettes and e-hookahs with them to declare and deposit the same to the nearest police station without unnecessary delay.

Hyderabad: The Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahendar Reddy on Monday requested all the people and stockholders, who are having stocks of e-cigarettes and e-hookahs with them to declare and deposit the same to the nearest police station without unnecessary delay.

In view of Central Government's vide an ordinance 'Prohibition of e-Cigarettes Ordinance-2019, the suo moto declaration may be treated as a communication to all the people, companies, firms, group and persons entity to take action immediately so as to avoid prosecution.

Police further requested all the managements of schools, colleges and other institutions to create awareness among the citizens about the harmful effects of e-cigarettes and e-hookahs and the provisions of the Ordinance 2019 to educate them.

They said necessary instructions have been issued to all officers in the State to enforce it strictly as per provisions of ordinance.
