Hyderabad: Hyderabad District Election Officer has warned managements of printing presses that action would be taken against them if they print pamphlets, posters, banners and other election-related literature without taking their permission.

Nodal officer for election expenses in Hyderabad district Venkateshwar Reddy and CPRO Venkatramana conducted a meeting with managements of printing presses at GHMC main office on Tuesday.

Proprietors of printing presses, and representatives of flexi printers and other agencies attended the meeting.

Addressing printing press proprietors, he said that details of the printing press such as name of the press, mobile number, and total number of copies should be furnished on any election campaign material such as pamphlets, posters and banners to be printed for any candidate contesting in ensuing Parliament elections to be held on April 11.

In this regard, if any printer violates the election code, the printer concerned would be punished with six-month imprisonment and fine of Rs 2,000 under Section 127A of Public representatives Act 1951.
