Hyderabad: Stating that the Union Minister G Kishan Reddy was raising a hue and cry over the protocol issue during the Metro Rail inauguration, TRS leader Karne Prabhakar on Sunday said that this proves that the political benefits were important to the BJP leaders and not the interests of the State.

Addressing a press conference here, Karne Prabhakar said that the Centre has given Rs 1,200 crore to the Metro Rail project based on the agreement and added that it was not due to Kishan Reddy's mercy for Telangana.

"The Centre is allocating funds to Telangana as per its rightful share and it was not anything additional. Any Central minister will bring funds to his State but Kishan Reddy is threatening to stop the funds," said Prabhakar adding people of Secunderabad, who voted Kishan Reddy were shocked with his attitude.

The TRS leader said that there was no protocol violation in the Metro Rail inauguration. If there was any violation of protocol, how will Congress working president A Revanth Reddy attend the event?

Every hoarding belonging to Metro Rail has photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Prabhakar. He said that government of Telangana was ready to hold felicitation programme of Kishan Reddy if he brings a prestigious project to Telangana.

Alleging that Centre gave only 20 per cent of the funds to Metro Rail project, the TRS leader sought support of Kishan Reddy to bring remaining funds immediately.

The TRS leader demanded the Union Minister to withdraw his comments of not releasing funds to the State.
