District Collector Ronald Rose on Tuesday said that the 30-day action plan introduced by the State government is a good opportunity to make all villages the model villages of their own kind as each village is unique in its needs and requirements.

Mahbubnagar: District Collector Ronald Rose on Tuesday said that the 30-day action plan introduced by the State government is a good opportunity to make all villages the model villages of their own kind as each village is unique in its needs and requirements.

While taking part in the 30-day action plan implementation awareness and training programme at the Mandal Parishad Office in Balanagar mandal, he sought the cooperation of villagers in the development of their respective villages.

During the meeting, the Collector instructed the Gram Panchayat secretary, Sarpanch and members of standing committee of all Gram Panchayats to chart out every day schedule of programmes to be taken up in each village and must strictly follow it to ensure comprehensive all round development.

The Collector stressed that the village officials must encourage the people in the village to dig sink pits, construct individual household latrines, set up dumping yards and burial grounds. In addition to this, as the state government has allocated 10 per cent funds for Harithahaaram plantation programme, the collector urged the villagers to take up plantation in a big way and ensure every planted tree is protected. He advised the village authorises to employ one watchman to every 200 plants and set up plant protection guards to ensure safety of plants. The collector also advised the people of the village and the concerned authorised to conduct every day padayatra so that they can have a glimpse of condition of roads, open pits, water stagnated drains and can take steps like filling up of open pits, repairs of roads and cleaning of drains and unwanted trees growing in open places. The collector advocated people must extending helping hand by doing sramadaanam (donate work).

He also stressed that the village authorities must create awareness on garbage collection at household level about wet and dry garbage to the people. The collector said that the 30 day action plan is the best way to streamline the administration in the villages and the same can be extended further to ensure systematic administration that can achieve best results in the coming days. "Both state and central governments are allocating equal share of funds for the village gram panchayaties and it must be utilise wisely for the village development. Every village must conduct the general body meeting chart out annual and 5 year action plans and accordingly spend the funds for the development of the village," said the collector.

ZP vice chairman and ZP CEO yadiaya, District Panchayatraj officer Venkateshwarlu, ZPTCs, MPTCs Sarpanches and Panchayat secretaries and special officials from Rajapur and Balanagar mandals took part in the programme.
