People across the country would be running to draw attention to the devastating levels and impact of marine plastic pollution between June 8 and 16 and for every kilometer run, adidas will contribute $1 to the Parley Ocean School (capped at $1.5 million).

People across the country would be running to draw attention to the devastating levels and impact of marine plastic pollution between June 8 and 16 and for every kilometer run, adidas will contribute $1 to the Parley Ocean School (capped at $1.5 million).

Rajiv M, a medical transcriptionist and resident of Marredpally says, "I wish to make a difference to the environment and have been taking part in Run For The Oceans. I signed up on the Runtastic app and every km that I clock would make a difference to a child living near the oceans." He adds, "I would be recording the run and contribute to mileage."

Last year, Run For The Oceans (RFTO) united one million runners around the world who covered 12.4 million km raising $1 million that was used to educate children in highly polluted ocean areas and reaching out to 100,000 youths and their families. This year, events, taking place in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Goa and Chennai and people from other cities are taking part in the digital run.
