Ramachandrapuram: Various trade unions of BHEL, in coordination with labour organisations and associations, on Friday took out a massive bike rally here, with the slogan 'Save BHEL', 'Save government undertakings' under the banner of BHEL Workers' Union.

The rally from BHEL gate ended at the check-post. Addressing the participants, trade union leaders called for frustrating the 'conspiracies' to privatise BHEL. They warned of staging relay hunger-strikes, protests and agitation opposing the efforts.

Among the participants in the rally were BWU general secretary Srinivas, CITU general secretary Pentaiah, BMS president Rajkumar, BKS president Mahesh, SC Association general secretary Mohan, OBC treasurer Gopal, ST Association president Yesupadam, besides BHEL workers, who are members of various trade unions.
