Hanamkonda (Warangal-U): The Congress demanded the district administration to shift the dumping yard from Balasamudram area to some other location as the residents have been put to distress unable to bear the stink emanating from the trash. Warangal District Congress Committee president Naini Rajender Reddy who along with his party workers visited the dump yard site on Friday criticised the people's representatives of the ruling TRS party for not being sensitive towards the problems faced by the people of Warangal city.

"Even though Warangal is the second-largest city in the State, it lacks basic infrastructure. It's appalling to see a dumping yard in the heart of the city. Besides the residents, a huge chunk of people come to Balasamudram area where a lot of private hospitals are located. It's difficult to bear the stink even for a half-an-hour in the area," Reddy said.

Despite the residents' repeated appeals, the authorities have not taken any measure to shift the dumping yard, he said. Greater Warangal Congress Committee president Katla Srinivas was present.
