Suryapet: Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav advised the students to give equal importance to studies and sports in order to stay fit physically and mentally.

On Wednesday, he launched the games and sports competitions, organized by Guntakandla Savitramma Foundation, on the eve of 130th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, celebrated as Children's Day, at Government Junior College Grounds in Suryapet.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Suryapet has become a center stage for promotion of sports with the efforts of Minister Jagadish Reddy. "The Minister has spent hundreds of crores for the development of Suryapet constituency and the district considerably," the MP said.

He appreciated the services of the Guntakandla Savitramma Foundation in encouraging students in both studies and sports by providing free training programs with educationalists and distribution of sports kits to youth associations of villages and wards in Suryapet town.

District Education Officer Madan Mohan, Government Junior College principal Rudrangi Ramu, staff and students of various private and government schools participated in the program.
