After the Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Tahsildar Lavanya in disproportionate assets case in July 2019, her husband was arrested on Saturday in a bribery case.

N Venkateshwara Naik, a superintendent at the office of regional director, Municipal Corporation was caught taking a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh along with his associate K Prakash.

Naik demanded bribe Rs 3.5 lakh one Randheer, a native of Hanamkonda for appointing him as an outsourcing employee at his office. However, the victim paid the amount and was appointed. Recently, Naik again demanded Rs 40,000 bribe to allow Randheer to continue his job with regular pay along with ESI and EPF facilities.

The ACB sleuths said that Randheer was made to work without an appointment letter for 10 months and Naik evaded him when he asked for it. On Saturday, the ACB sleuths nabbed his associate Prakash while he was taking the bribe upon the directions of Naik. Both were taken into custody.
