Take steps to promote institutional deliveries, Collector RV Karnan tells doctors in Khammam
District Collector RV Karnan made a surprise visit to the district hospital on Tuesday and inspected the wards, Intensive Care Unit, conference hall and visitors’ room, and interacted with the doctors and other hospital staff.

Speaking on the occasion, he directed the health officials to develop facilities in the hospital to promote institutional deliveries and submit month-wise delivery reports to authorities concerned. The Collector also directed the orthopaedic and dental departments to meet their targets besides asking the Chief Superintendent of the hospital to fill the vacant nurse posts.
Later, he interacted with Asha workers and pregnant women on the hospital premises. Hospital Chief Superintendent Dr B Venkateswaralu, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kalavathi Bai, Doctors Dr Krupa Usha Sri and Dr Laxman and various heads of other department were present during the Collector's visit.
