Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 10 crore for celebration of birth centenary of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao which will begin on June 28 at PV Ghana Bhoomi in the city.

The Chief Minister also instructed Industry minister KT Rama Rao to make arrangements for the conduct of PV birthday celebrations at 50 locations all over the world.

Like a memorial set up for former President Abdul Kalam in Rameswaram, a PV Memorial would also be constructed in Hyderabad. A team under the leadership of TRS senior leader Dr Keshav Rao will visit Rameswaram and suggest to the government on how PV Memorial should be built.

Recognising the yoeman services of former Prime Minister, the government also decided to install five bronze statues of PV at Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Vangara and at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi.

A portrait of PV would also be unveiled in the Telangana State Legislative Assembly.
