Medak: Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that the TRS government had been striving for the uplift of the suppressed sections. He was the chief guest for the 'Gopala Mitra' programme organised here on Tuesday.

Srinivas Yadav appreciated Gopala Mitras for the opportunity of serving animals. He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had been focussing on developing traditional occupations to boost rural economy. He said that the distribution of sheep to the Golla Kurmas was successful and the second phase will commence within 15 days.

Local legislator Padma Devender Reddy requested the Minister to grant funds for the development of veterinary hospitals in the district along with fish market. Secretary of Animal Husbandry Sandeep Kumar said more funds have been allotted for the rearing of sheep, buffaloes, fish in the state.

The state is in top position in milk production with 170 million tonnes. Earlier, the Minister inaugurated exhibition and stalls organised by the animal husbandry department. Later, he launched the manual, training schedule, reliance voice message system for Gopala Mitra were inaugurated by him.

TSLDA Chairman Rajeshwara Rao, CEO Manjuvani, animal husbandry statistics Dr Ramchander, Joint Collector Nagesh, ZP Vice Chairaman Lavanya Reddy, Municipal Chairman Mallikarjun Goud, District Chairmen of all animal husbandry statistics department, 1343 Gopal Mitras, 65 supervisors were present.
