TRS' juggernaut will continue to roll: Errabelli Dayakar Rao
Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao, who is entrusted with the responsibility of looking after Warangal and Mahabubabad Parliamentary constituencies, is the man of the moment.
Warangal: Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao, who is entrusted with the responsibility of looking after Warangal and Mahabubabad Parliamentary constituencies, is the man of the moment.
Handling such situations is by no mean a tough task for this six-time MLA, who has seen many such challenges in his nearly four decade-long political career. It's apparent that TRS leadership chose right person in Errabelli, whose knowledge of political dynamics in erstwhile Warangal district is second to none.
His stint as Lok Sabha member for about year is also an added advantage for the party. The Hans India (THI) caught up with Errabelli, who is in the thick of the things right from the notification of Lok Sabha elections.
THI: How do you see TRS' prospects in the Lok Sabha elections?
Errabelli: Excellent. Thanks to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who rolled out an umpteen number of welfare and developmental programmes in last five years. The lopsided victory in recent Assembly elections reflect the fact that TRS government delivered much more than the people expected. Both the TRS candidates - Pasunuri Dayakar (Warangal) and Maloth Kavitha (Mahabubabad) – will win with a bumper majority.
THI: What about Congress and BJP candidates?
Errabelli: In fact, we are focused on increasing our majority in both the Lok Sabha seats. We are expecting more than five lakh majority for TRS candidates in both the constituencies. To me, both Congress and BJP are out of the contest.
Everyone is aware of the fact that neither the Congress nor the BJP is in a position to command people's respect. Having seen the development brought in by the TRS government in last five years, people no more believes Congress. On the other hand, BJP has no locus standi to seek vote as it had done nothing for Telangana.
THI: What is TRS' strategy?
Errabelli: Even after winning the Assembly elections with a bumper majority, all the TRS leaders and cadre didn't relax. They continued their association with the people. KCR is a great leader and he knows what people are expecting from his government.
On the other hand, TRS working president KT Rama Rao is striving hard to strengthen the party from grass root level. All the activists, who worked hard for the party, will get their due in near future.
THI: What about the issues faced by the people in erstwhile Warangal district?
Errabelli: KCR, who addressed many a problem faced by the people with aplomb, has set his eyes on establishing Bayyaram steel plant, periodical overhauling unit at Kazipet etc besides extracting funds for irrigation projects and Mega Textile Park from the Centre.
With BJP and Congress are in no position to get required numbers in the Lok Sabha, the TRS has a fair chance to play a key role in the national politics if it wins 16 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.
THI: Why people should vote for TRS?
Errabelli: It's TRS which bent the neck of Centre to achieve separate Telangana fulfilling the aspirations of the region's people.
After coming to power in 2014, TRS government introduced many welfare and developmental programmes which have now become beacon for the rest of the country. Rythu Bandhu, Kalyanalakshmi, Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha and the list goes on...
