Rajapet (Yadadri-Bhongir): Government Whip Gongidi Sunitha urged the people to maintain clean surrounding for keeping diseases at bay, and advised the villagers to plant as many as saplings as possible to restore the lost greenery to rural areas.

On Thursday, she took part in the Haritha Haram programme held at Raghunathapuram of Rajapet mandal in the district. Speaking on the occasion, she advised the villagers not to throw litter on roads and maintain hygienic conditions in the village by establishing dumping yards in the village.

Villages can develop with the involvement of all villagers collectively, she said, adding that people of Raghunathapuram stood as role model by planting 5,000 plants in 9 acres of government land at a time near Pottimarri. Rainfall and groundwater table increases by planting more saplings, she added.
