Yadava women offer Bonalu for copious rains in Nalgonda

Nalgonda: A large number of women belonging to Yadava community of Pangal of Nalgonda wishing for good rains offered Gampala Bonalu to Goddess Ganga Devamma at a temple located near Pangal reservoir on Monday. As part of celebrations, women following the age old tradition, decorated the Bonalu carrying baskets colorfully with vermillion, turmeric and flowers. They performed special pujas before offering the Bonalu to the Goddess Gangamma. One of the elderly women informed that women of Yadava community conduct the Jatara once in every five years seeking the blessings of Gangamma and for good rains so that farmers can get good yields and profits from their farm produce.
