Yakutpura: Outlets selling loose petrol raided
Yakutpura: As part of its ongoing crackdown on illegal outlets selling loose petrol in different parts of city, the officials of TS Civil Supplies Department along with police and other department officials conducted raids on street vendors who were found to be selling loose petrol on roads in Old City.
On Thursday, the ACSO (Assistant Civil Supplies Officer), G Tanuja along with Deputy Tehsildar (Enforcement) and Inspectors formed a team and conducted inspection in areas like Lal Darwaza, Shalibanda, Moghalpura, Riyasath Nagar and other areas in Yakutpura circle.
During inspection, it was found that hawkers were selling loose petrol at kirana stores, puncture shops and on roadside. The material was seized, and they were warned against selling loose petrol and also cautioned them that cases would be booked, if they did not mend ways.
Speaking to media persons, Tanuja said that petrol or diesel can't be sold without license. "During inspection, we generate awareness and instruct them not to sell loose petrol, noted their address and phone numbers and also cautioned them that the cases will be booked for selling it loose", she explained.
Tanuja also said that, Civil Supplies higher officers also instructed the petrol pumps not to sell loose petrol or diesel, but in case of emergency. "For starting a vehicle only 500 ml of petrol or a diesel will be given with a proper identity proof an Aadhar card or a Driving license," she added.
