Hyderabad: Cops who beat Covid warmly felicitated
So far, around 1,500 cops have tested positive for coronavirus
Hyderabad: As many as 278 south zone police officers were affected by the Covid-19, of whom 216 officers reported for duty on Wednesday.
Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar congratulated them on their successful recovery and and honored them with certificates and gifts. DS Chauhan, Additional Commissioner of Police, Tarun Joshi, Joint CP (Special Branch), and Gajarao Bhupal, DCP (South Zone), and other officers attended the programme.
"We are very happy to welcome the Covid-19 conquerors back on duty. The Hyderabad city police has been fighting with the coronavirus for public safety round-the-clock since March. During this period, a few of our frontline officers were affected in the line of duty. We are glad that out of 278 affected officers 216 resumed their duties and we hope the rest will also join duty soon," said Anjani Kumar. In a few days, religious events such as Muharram and Ganesh Chathurthi are going to take place. As such, the work of police officers will increase.During these times of pandemic, we request denizens to cooperate with the officials for the safety of everyone," he added further.
So far, around 1,500 cops have tested positive for coronavirus. Many of them have recovered and have reporting back to duty. Among them 120 police personnel have donated plasma, added the Commissioner.
