Kakinada: As many as 89 flying squads and 74 model code of conduct teams have been constituted in East Godavari district for smooth conduct of elections, announced District Collector Kartikeya Mishra.

Briefing the media on election arrangements along with SP Vishal Gunni here on Sunday evening, the Collector said that 70 static surveillance teams and 55 video reviewing teams were also constituted for monitoring model code of conduct and election expenditure.

The Collector said that 310 cases were booked against belt liquor shops and Rs 75 lakh has been seized so far.

Kartikeya Mishra also said that Sumit Kumar Gandhi, Municipal Commissioner, Rajamahendravaram will be the nodal officer for model code of conduct (MCC) implementation in the district.

The Collector revealed that the required number of EVMs and VVPATs are ready and the C Vigil app will be used for monitoring complaints on violations of model code of conduct.

Vishal Gunni said that 3000 bind over cases were booked and sufficient force will be deployed for polls in shadow zones. Sumit Kumar Gandhi also attended.
