Visakhapatnam: The 99th birth anniversary celebration of T Amrutha Rao was observed with fervour at Ukkunagaram on Monday.
Director (Projects) of RINL K K Ghosh garlanded the statue of Amrutha Rao. Speaking on the occasion, Ghosh said that Amrutha Rao played a key role in setting up of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by observing fasts. "The slogan 'Visakha ukku Andhrula hakku' is still remembered by the people of the region," he stated.
RINL Senior officials, representatives of Steel Executive Association, union leaders and SC and ST, OBC Association and a large number of employees offered floral tributes to Amrutha Rao on the occasion.
T Mohan Gandhi, grandson of late Amruta Rao participated in the programme.
