The meeting of the Governing Council was held at the RTC House in Vijayawada on Friday, chaired by Vice Chairman and Managing Director of APS RTC. On this occasion, the Governing Council made a resolution approving the RTC merger process. Earlier, the Department of Public Transport also approved the procedures for the establishment of the Department of Transportation.
The council has cancelled a lease agreement for the development of RTC space at the old bus stand in a BOT manner. The decision to reduce the application deadline under the Breadwinner Scheme. The board also approved the decision to establish 350 electric buses in the state.
With the latest development, the ruling YSRCP government has kept its promise given in the election campaign. On the other hand, the Andhra Pradesh govt's decisions have become the headache for its counterpart Telangana govt where it has been facing the tough times with the RTC.
