As the govt wants to strengthen public schools, these awards will be given to the student who has achieved the highest GPA in the tenth class and the students who are studying in the public schools.

Talent awards have been given to students studying in public schools and private schools so far. However, to further strengthen public schools and curtail private schools, the government has taken steps to give merit awards only to government students.

The state government as decided to award RS 20000 as cash award and is said to be providing them a tab, medal, certificate and a book for student's career.
