The state government has issued a notification confirming the jurisdiction of the CBI courts in AP.

The state government has issued a notification confirming the jurisdiction of the CBI courts in AP. The present CBI court in Vijayawada will also continue in Visakhapatnam as well. The government has notified the districts that come under these two CBI courts on Monday. According to the latest notification, CBI cases in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam have been assigned to special courts in four different districts.

The State Home Department has issued an order confirming the special court jurisdiction of the CBI cases in Visakhapatnam would extend to Srikakulam, Vizianagaram Visakhapatnam, and East Godavari districts. While the jurisdiction of the newly-constituted CBI court in Vijayawada will extend to the districts of West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, and Nellore.

The order states that the Fifth Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Vijayawada will take up cases other than those registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
