Nellore: TDP politburo member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy remarked that the state government has lost its moral right to continue in power with severe comments of the apex court in connection with removal of the State Election Commissioner.

Releasing a note on Wednesday, he said that the Supreme Court made it clear that the arguments of the state government were not convincing and denied stay orders on the verdict of the high court of state.

He pointed out the Supreme Court also questioned unconstitutional act of the state government while removing the SEC from the constitutional position.

"The state government is doing mistakes continuously overlooking directions of the high court and it lost moral right to continue in the power after comments of the Supreme Court. Many Chief Ministers had quit their posts earlier after this kind of situation where courts remarked on the functioning of the government," said Somireddy.
