Four containment zones declared in Guntur

Tirupati: Day by day covid-19 cases have been increasing in temple city Tirupati and the tally touched 225. Out of 50 municipal divisions, around 40 divisions were declared as red zones with the rapid hike in covid-19 cases. MCT is continuing collecting samples from people for covid tests.

Officials alerted the health workers and sanitary staff in all divisions to take up measures for spraying hydro chlorite liquid and bleaching powder.

As per latest Home ministry guide lines police officials have placed danger sign boards only at the entry and exit points of the streets. They are restricting the traffic in 500 metres from the area where the case was diagnosed.

MCT Commissioner PS Girisha, Health officer Dr Sudharani and sanitary supervisors Chenchaia and Goverdhen regularly monitoring the situation in containment zones. And also placed barricades to curb the traffic flow in those streets as well as deployed additional number of sanitary staff.

In the mean while, Municipal officials continue efforts to identify contacts of Covid-19 patients and collecting samples from them also to prevent further spread of the virus. Due to shortage of vehicles delay is taking place in shifting of patients to isolation wards from various divisions in the city.
