Amaravati: Minister for Urban Development and Municipal administration Botcha Satyanarayana questioned if the State government initiated any adverse decision against the media during the last 5 months.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat on Friday, Botcha responded to the allegations made against the YSRCP government by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

He was reacting against the earlier comments of former Chief Minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu on the State Cabinet decision to empower all secretaries to lodge cases against media houses if they publish any adverse news on the State government.

The Minister said that no court in the country objected to lodging a complaint against any media house which publishes false news with vested interests. He further explained that the State government has been giving respect to all media houses and journalists. He said Naidu himself had indulged in anti-media activities when he was in government.
