Clean destinations attract more tourists: IITTM
Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India, through Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) Nellore organised an awareness programme on ‘Swachh Bharat – Swachh Paryatan’ as part of its action plan for stakeholders in tourism at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) here on Tuesday.
Vijayawada: Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India, through Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) Nellore organised an awareness programme on 'Swachh Bharat – Swachh Paryatan' as part of its action plan for stakeholders in tourism at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) here on Tuesday.
K Sanjeeva Reddy, assistant professor, IITTM, Nellore while launching the programme, said that the ministry has undertaken cleanliness activities for stakeholders at 180 tourist destinations in the country. He said that clean destinations attract more tourists and emphasised the need of intensifying the activities towards cleanliness.
Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, CCVA, spoke on the role of each and every stakeholder viz government, private sector, travel and tour operators, academia, students and tourists in keeping various types of tourist destinations clean.
Prof Poorna Chandra Rao, HOD, Dept of Tourism Acharya Nagarjuna University, Dr Hariprasad, SRR and CVR Govt Degree College, Sridevi and Suneetha, faculty from Maris Stella College, Satyanarayana, ED, AP Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rahman Shaeb, Golla Narayana Rao, Dr Gumma Sambasivarao participated in the event.
